Ottawa Indivisible is proud to sponsor a free public forum on health care. The forum is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17, 7:00 pm at the Ottawa VFW. Mark your calendars and start getting the word out!
The panelists will be Julie Hogue, Director of Nursing at IVCC, Anne Lauterjung, Outpatient Dietician at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital, Daphne Mitchell, Unit Director of Perioperative Services at Mount Sinai Hospital, and Neill Mohammad, Healthcare Consultant and candidate for US Congress. These are people with intimate knowledge of our health care system, and they will have some great perspectives to offer.
The forum will focus on the following three questions: How did we get to this critical juncture in health care? What are the challenges we currently face? What do you see as possible options for health care in the future?
Each panelist will speak for five minutes on each of the three questions. We’ll address each question in round-robin fashion; in other words, each panelist will speak on question one, then again on question two, and so on. We’ll keep about 20 – 30 minutes at the end for a question-and-answer session with the audience.
Please pass this information along to your local church for inclusion in a church bulletin! There may be many folks in your congregation who’d be interested in attending. Let them know this is strictly an informational event and is not a political event or a debate.
We’re asking everyone to print out the event flyer (DOWNLOAD FLYER HERE) and distribute it in any spot where interested folks might congregate. (Churches, laundromats, grocery stores, employee lounges, etc.) The flyer is already posted on Indivisible Facebook pages for Ottawa, Streator and DeKalb. If you want to add it to your own social media as well, that’s fantastic.
Please join us for this timely and much-needed event – and bring a friend or two!
