Act: Call Rep. Kinzinger’s office and ask for a town hall to explain his AHCA vote. Tell them if he won’t, then we’ll ask his neighboring Democratic House Members to do his job.
In a nutshell: DeKalb Indivisible has launched an effort to make Adam Kinzinger hold a health care town hall. Please call Adam Kinzinger and ask for a Traditional Town Hall to discuss the AHCA, how it will affect us and Kinzinger’s plan for our district. If he will not commit to anything or agree to begin planning a town hall for this break period, let him know that we are done begging him. He claimed to support coverage for pre-existing conditions, then voted opposite of what he told us. He needs to step up and answer his district’s concerns and questions, and explain his vote, in a Town Hall format or we will ask a neighboring district House Rep to host a town hall in our district for us, where we can get some answers about this health care bill.
In 5 minutes you can: Call Rep Kinzinger first:
Watseka Office P: (815) 432-0580 Ask for Patrick
Ottawa Office P: (815) 431-9271
If Adam Kinzinger’s staff doesn’t promise a town hall, then call
Cheri Bustos, Democrat, House of Representatives, District 17
Rockford (815) 968-8011
Rock Island (309) 786-3406
Peoria (309) 966-1813
Raja Krishnamoorthi, Democrat, House of Representatives, District 8
Schaumburg (847) 413-1959
Ask if either of them would be interested in a Town Hall in our district, because our congressman refuses to do one. Would they be willing to come explain this bill and answer our questions?
“I think every Republican who voted for this thing ought to have to stand in front of their voters and explain it,” Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Saturday. “And if it takes a Democrat to go in and do it for them for a while, I’ll explain what’s in this bill.”
